<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The original statewide Sewer Service Area (SSA) dataset was created to support various analyses with data obtained from individual counties and updated on an as-needed basis. Much of the data is varying in terms of quality control, completeness, and accuracy. Today, the SSA reflects MDE-approved water and sewer amendments and comprehensive updates prompted by water and sewer plan updates from counties.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
In 2018, it was determined that an update was necessary to provide additional data necessary for the growth model update. The update resulted in the addition of several fields including the MDE amendment approval date, resolution number, change date, and update type. The GIS data resides on the SDE maintained by the Geospatial and Data Analysis (GDA) Unit staff.
